He said that due to the increase in the value of the US dollar, there has been a decline in per capita income.
However, a responsible source told Prothom Allo that the per capita income in the provisional estimates for the current financial year has been US$2,763.
According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), the GDP growth in 2021-22 was recorded at 7.1 per cent with per capita income at US$2,793 as against US$2,824 in the provisional estimate.
