Gujarat Titans are out of the play-off race as their IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad on Monday was abandoned without a single ball being bowled due to rain.
Both teams took one point each, ensuring a top-two finish for table-toppers Kolkata, who remain the only team to have already qualified for the next stage.
The last time Kolkata finished in the top two in the league stage, they won the tournament in 2012 and 2014.
The top four teams will advance to the playoffs, but the first and second placed teams will get two chances to qualify for the final in Chennai on May 26.
