He added that the Saudi government increased the cost by about 100,000 taka for each pilgrim as they added some new facilities for Haj pilgrims. On 1 February, the government fixed the Haj cost for each pilgrim at 683,018 taka which was about 161,000 taka more than the previous year.
Of them, an amount of Taka 197,797 was fixed as airfare for each passenger. The increased Haj cost drew heavy criticism as it is high compared to neighboring countries.
