Last year, the same amount of foreign exchange was allowed for the pilgrims. Bangladesh Bank has given this instruction in the light of a decision of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
According to the circular, every Haj pilgrim can take $1,200 or its equivalent in foreign currency over and above the total cost of Haj. However, the travel quota will not be applicable to Haj pilgrims. In this regard, the central bank has directed to follow the prevailing rules in the matter of foreign exchange concession.
