Awami League leader Haji Mohammad Salim, who was convicted of corruption, has been released from jail after 10 months as the Supreme Court accepted his application challenging his 10-year jail term in the case Is.

The Old Dhaka MP was at the hospital of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. According to Salim’s aide Mohiuddin Belal, Salim left the hospital at 2:15 pm on Tuesday and went to the Azimpur cemetery, where he offered prayers at his parents’ graves.

An Appellate Division panel headed by Chief Justice Hassan Foyez Siddiqui passed the bail order on December 6, paving the way for Salim’s release from jail. His lawyer Sayeed Ahmed Raja said the MLA would be out on bail till the disposal of his appeal.
