Just another few days more as the happy Eid al-Adha is approaching nearer, preparation for it is all around Bangladesh. It is on 7 November. Cattle markets have been set up in most of the places.

This holy Eid is also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice” or “Greater Eid”. The tradition started from ancient time. People sacrifice a beast of their choice in the name of the almighty Allah. It is “wajib” that is to say this is mandatory to all Muslims who can afford. If however one cannot afford it, it is not mandatory to him. Usually cows and goats are selected for Sacrificing or “Qurbani”.

It has business significance too. One of the export items is dependant on it. This is the time to collect skins of the beasts for the processing of leather.

www.dhakanews.info wishes happy Eid al-Adha to every body.
