Shama said Sheikh Hasina has already been convicted and hence the government has nothing to consider on the statements of the convicted person.
“Wherever Sheikh Hasina surrenders, whether in India or Bangladesh, she will first have to go to jail. The government has nothing to consider on the statement of a guilty person,” he said.
Shama said the government had already requested India to hand over Sheikh Hasina under the existing extradition treaty and diplomatic efforts were ongoing to facilitate her return.
He said the legal process will decide the further action after Sheikh Hasina returns to Bangladesh.
