US President Barack Obama has enquired about Bangladesh when Sheikh Hasina exchanged greetings twice with the US President on separate occasions here.
The Bangladesh Premier first exchanged pleasantries with the US President at the reception hosted by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at the Visitors Lobby at the UN Headquarters on Wednesday noon (local time), Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni said.
Later in the evening, Sheikh Hasina and Obama exchanged greetings again by saying ‘hello’ to each other at another reception hosted by US First Lady Michelle Obama at the New York Public Library.
The heads of states and governments of the UN member countries also attended the two receptions.
The global leaders gathered in the US city to attend the 66th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to sort out future actions for building the world as more peaceful and prosperous one.
The UNGA sessions formally began on Wednesday morning with the speeches from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Brazilian President Dilma Rouseff.
