According to Municipal Corporation sources, the Minister of State and the Administrator were scheduled to inspect the market at 3 pm today. At around 1:20 pm, an urgent message was sent to the municipal corporation’s WhatsApp group informing officials to be prepared for news coverage.
Shortly after this, at around 2:15 pm, the cleaning workers reached the market and started their work. At around 2:30 pm, a payload machine was brought in. After this, rapid efforts began to remove the garbage accumulated from the roads, clean the garbage and clean various parts of the market.
The cleaning operation was led by DNCC Chief Property Officer Shaukat Usman. He was also accompanied by Deputy Chief Waste Management Officer Mofizur Rahman Bhuiyan. Under his supervision, employees were cleaning various areas of the market.
