He said that during the freedom struggle, the country got freedom through supreme blood sacrifice.
“Today Bangladesh has got the identity of a developing country, and we want to move forward. We want to make Bangladesh a developed and prosperous country while ensuring socio-economic progress.
He said that the people of the country will not beg from anyone.
Sheikh Hasina said that the coronavirus pandemic has put immense pressure on the economy internationally, while the Russia-Ukraine war has caused a global recession, not only in Bangladesh.
“I urge everyone to follow the footsteps of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman…don’t leave even an inch of cultivable land unused,” she said.
