The Turkish embassy in Dhaka has asked the people of Bangladesh for support in the form of essential items for the homeless as casualties continue to rise after the earthquake.

Search and rescue operations are continuing to find people trapped dead or alive under the rubble as the death toll in Turkey and Syria exceeded 17,000 on Thursday.

Bangladesh sent a team of 61 medical experts and rescuers to Turkey to join humanitarian efforts to help the millions left homeless by the earthquake.
