High Court asks for wealth statement of Ibn Sina Hospital.

On 15th August a private TV channel reported that three infants died due to negligence of the doctors at Ibn Sina hospital. It is alleged that the parents were not allowed to access those babies for three days; even they were not informed about those death of infants.

And then on 17th August, the High Court issued a suo moto rule to the hospital authority asking the top officials to appear before the court on 23rd August.

As per the rule all of the summoned personnel excluding Chairman advocate Mujibur Rahman and member Ataur Rahman appeared before the court yesterday.

The high court asked them to submit wealth statement of the hospital including the hospital’s early stage description. The court also asked the government to form a high powered committee led by the VC of BSMMU to monitor and control all private hospitals and diagnostic centers. The AC of the area and OC of Dhanmondi police station have to appear before the court on 25th August to inform what they have done in this matter.

The court also asked trustee board members to appear at 16th October, but as the chairman is sick he is exempted.
