A cyber tribunal in Dhaka sentenced Adilur and Nasir to two years in prison each in a case registered under Section 57 of the Information and Communications Technology Act for an incident that occurred a decade ago.
The court also imposed a fine of Taka 10,000 on him, failing which he will have to remain in jail for another month.
Adilur and Nasir filed an appeal against the sentence on 25 September and sought bail. The case was heard by a bench of the apex court.
