The Deputy Attorney General stood up from his seat and said, “We also have something to say.”
Then the court addressed the Deputy Attorney General and said, “Let him speak first. Why are you jumping out of your seat so quickly? …You have made the country hell.”
Later, AJ Mohammad Ali said the appellants have been sentenced to two years’ jail each and a fine of Tk 10,000 in the case registered under the ICT Act.
“Why?” The court asked. On this, AJ Mohammad Ali said, “The sentences were awarded under Section 57 (2).
Then the court asked, “Did you apply for bail?” AJ Mohammed Ali responded positively.
Participating in the hearing, Deputy Attorney General Rezaul Karim said that there are allegations against them (Adilur and Nasir) of spreading misinformation, negative publicity and rumours.
