Primary education was made primary and compulsory in 1973. But now it has been highly commercialized.
Rich and affluent people send their children to private schools by spending huge amounts of money. However, the poor and low-income people do not have the chance to go beyond government primary schools.
There are basically two reasons behind the plight of government primary schools in the capital.
First of all poor children study in these educational institutions. That’s why along with the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the government is also extremely negligent towards the schools of the poor.
The ministers and officials of this ministry would have paid more attention if their own children or the rich children in general studied in these schools.
Secondly, the local influential people do not want the government primary school located there to run smoothly. If government schools are closed, they will easily be able to take possession of the land and buildings.
Therefore, the government primary schools in the capital whose land and buildings have been evicted should be taken back quickly. And, minimum infrastructure is to be ensured for educational institutions.
