No effort was made to include children with physical disabilities or special needs, which is quite evident in the Bangla book.

The illustrations in English books appeared to be quite modern and clear. However, at times the images felt foreign and irrelevant to the modernist approach.

For example, the co-existence of cows and camels in the picture on page 48 seemed completely out of place in the reality of Bangladesh.

Lastly, the inclusion of national helpline numbers 109 and 333, which were there in previous years as well, at the end of the book is commendable.

However, experience has shown that these emergency numbers are often hidden when children add extra covers to their books. Hence the purpose of adding these numbers to the back of the book is defeated in many cases.

Many allege that when doing gender analysis, analysts forcefully highlight the inequality between men and women.

With all due respect to such comments, I would like to say that this kind of discrimination is so deeply ingrained in us that our accustomed eyes often fail to recognize them and we unknowingly accept them even in the pages of books. Huh.
