At least 12 passengers were killed and 10 others were injured when a train dragged a bus for a considerable distance after it veered off course at a level crossing in Cumilla.
Umar Farooq, one of the injured passengers, narrated the incident while being treated at Cumilla Medical College Hospital.
Speaking to Prothom Alo, he said, “I was sleeping on the bus. Suddenly, I was woken up by a loud jolt and a deafening sound. I saw the train dragging the bus away. Before I could understand it, the inside of the bus was completely crushed.”
