ICC is facing a new controversy before the World Cup amid conflict with cricketers’ organizations.

The most controversial stipulation is that if players participate in the World Cup, officials will deem them to have accepted all terms and conditions – even if they have not formally signed them. The WCA strongly opposes this “imposed” approach.

Tom Moffatt has accused the ICC and its member boards of attempting to take away the protections afforded to players and trying to establish ownership over players.

They believe the agreement specifically targets low-paid or amateur players for exploitation.

Moffat made it clear that the WCA did not want to disrupt the World Cup. However, he expressed serious concerns, saying, “These ICC conditions seriously undermine players’ rights. Imposing different conditions on economically vulnerable players is particularly troubling. For many players, ICC events represent their primary source of income.”

According to reports, the ICC has not yet responded to the letter sent by the WCA earlier this week. ESPNcricinfo has contacted the ICC for comment, but at the time of publication of this report, the organization had not issued a response.
