Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hasan Mahmood has said that if Bangladeshis truly support the Bengali language, slogans like “Inquilab Zindabad” should not be raised.
He made this comment in a discussion organized on Martyr Dibosh and International Mother Language Day at Shilpakala Academy Auditorium in Paurashava on Saturday.
Sirajganj district administration organized the program.
Referring to the youth, the minister said, “If we had thought more deeply about the Bengali language, today’s Gen-Z would not have raised the slogan of ‘Inquilab’.” I feel sad when they say ‘inquilab’. Is this why we went into the liberation war? We risked our lives to change society. But now I see society moving in the opposite direction.”
