Prothom Alo sought statements from concerned quarters regarding the unbelievable claim that this journalist was detained for 20 hours, handed over to the police at midnight on the pretext of release and then caught in a manhunt to arrest him. However, when attempts were made to contact them, the concerned CID and police officials did not respond.
When contacted, Mohammad Haroon Ar Rashid, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Ramna Zone, advised him to speak to senior officials about the matter.
