A century partnership between openers Shubman Gill-Ruturaj Gaikwad, a successful half-century from Suryakumar Yadav and five wickets from Mohammed Shami were the highlights of the day as India registered a five-wicket win over Australia in the first ODI in Mohali on Friday. ,

Chasing the target of 277 runs, Indian openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill gave an incredible start to India. Both of them played some excellent strokes from the very first over.

Gaikwad-Gill completed their fifty-run partnership in just 52 balls.

At the end of the first powerplay, India’s score was 66/0 in 10 overs.

Gill continued his brilliant performance in ODIs and completed his ninth ODI half-century with the help of five fours and two sixes in 37 balls.

India crossed 100 runs in 15.2 overs.

Gaikwad also completed his first ODI half-century with the help of seven fours in 60 balls.

Spinner Adam Zampa dismissed Gaikwad for 71 off 77 balls with 10 fours, ending the pair’s partnership at 142 runs.
