India extends onion export ban till March 31, 2024 to control prices

India has extended a ban on onion exports by three months to curb prices and increase supplies in local markets.

The ban, which sets a minimum export price (MEP) of US$800 per tonne, will remain valid till March 31, 2024, a notification from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said on Thursday.
