The 19th NAM Summit, led by Uganda, is being held under the theme ‘Deepening Cooperation for Shared Global Prosperity’ and brings together over 120 developing countries on a platform of significant historical importance.
India wholeheartedly supports Uganda’s theme for NAM and looks forward to engaging with NAM countries. The External Affairs Ministry release said that as one of the pioneer and founding members of NAM, India is committed to the principles and values of the movement.
On the sidelines of the NAM Summit, EAM is expected to meet Ugandan leadership and counterparts from NAM member states.
After this, Jaishankar will go to Nigeria on an official visit from January 21-23. The External Affairs Minister will co-chair the 6th India-Nigeria Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) with his counterpart and meet other leaders.
