Ramesh accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “distorting history and dividing India” and said the parties in the India Bloc also aimed to “bring about India – harmony, amity, reconciliation and trust”.
“So this news is indeed true. Rashtrapati Bhavan has sent invitations for the G20 dinner on September 9 in the name of ‘President of India’ instead of the usual ‘President of India’. Now, Article 1 in the Constitution may read: “India, being India, shall be a Union of States.” But now this “union of states” is also under attack,” Ramesh said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Mr Modi can continue to distort history and divide India, which is India, which is a union of states. But we will not be deterred. After all, what is the purpose of India parties? This is India – bring harmony, friendship, reconciliation and trust. India will join, India will win!” He added.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar also fiercely targeted Congress and said that the country was India and will remain India.
“He has a problem with everything and I don’t want to say anything for him. I am an ‘Indian’, the name of my country was ‘Bharat’ and will always remain ‘Bharat’. If Congress has any problem with this, then they should find the solution themselves,” the Union minister said while speaking to ANI.
India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also supported the President for using India on the official G20 invitation.
‘India’ is our introduction. We are proud of this. The President has given priority to ‘India’. The minister said, this is the biggest statement to come out of the colonial mentality.
