The ICC stated that the appeals panel reviewed footage of the Test match and “held that there was not enough highly variable bounce to warrant a ‘Poor’ rating”.
The new rating now has one demerit point.
If a venue accumulates five or more demerit points, it is suspended from hosting any international cricket for 12 months.
India, who won the opening two Tests, won the four-match series 2–1 after the fourth and final match ended in a draw.
