Former Bangladesh Ambassador to America Humayun Kabir said that due to internal shortcomings, foreigners are doing dictatorship.

As part of the global community, he said, foreigners have responsibilities regarding issues such as human rights, the practice of democracy and justice. Since there are deficiencies in these areas, foreign friends are offering advice and should not be considered interference, but expectations.

Regarding US visa restrictions, Humayun Kabir said that considering the political reality, America feels that mere advice will not work for the two parties here.

He said the US is putting pressure on political parties to encourage them to conduct fair elections, adding that the US wants to create an environment so that political parties understand the need for discussion. Through these activities an acceptable structure will be formed and the next elections will be conducted.
