Few years ago the government started a combined admission test for Govt. and private medical colleges. But this process was very old fashioned. Medical colleges distributed limited admission forms, many applicants and their guardians stood in queue from the evening so that they can get a form on the next day.

This year a combined test will be held for all medical and dental colleges including the private colleges where admission form fill up and submission will be done over the internet. So, no need to stand in queue. Test duration will be one hour, it will be multiple choice questions and one mark will be cut for every incorrect answer. Students will select their choice and they will get chance on their merit.

Three more govt. medical colleges added this year, Satkhira, Kishorgonj and Kushtia.

Now there are 18 govt. and 44 private medical colleges where total numbers of seats are 2,465 and 3,350 respectively. And govt. and private dental colleges have 218 and 765 seats respectively.
