Irfan was declared a proclaimed offender and the court fixed March 6 for hearing the witnesses.
Irfan’s bodyguard Zahidul Mollah, driver Mizanur Rehman, Haji Salim’s protocol officer AB Siddiqui Deepu and Qazi Ripon are also accused in the case.
Irfan used to be the councilor of ward number 30 of Dhaka South City Corporation. However, the Local Government Division temporarily suspended him after arresting him.
On October 24, 2020, a naval officer, Lieutenant Mohammad Wasif Ahmed Khan, in a case registered at Dhanmandi police station, accused Irfan and his associates of assaulting him.
