Iran’s targeting of residential areas and civilian infrastructure such as oil facilities, airports and desalination plants cannot be justified under any circumstances, the ministers said in a statement.
“This pressure from Iran will be politically and morally counterproductive and of course we reserve the right to take military action if deemed necessary,” Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan told a news conference after diplomats met in Riyadh.
Interceptors were seen fired near a Riyadh hotel where the conference was being held as ministers gathered for consultation on the Iran war.
