Israel’s military said on Wednesday it has detected missiles headed towards the country from Iran and activated air defenses, as it suppressed a “wave” of attacks against Iran and Lebanon.
“Some time ago, the IDF identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat,” the army said on its official Telegram account.
AFP journalists heard air raid sirens and distant explosions in Jerusalem.
