Jatka Conservation Week 2024 will be observed from March 11 to 17, with an aim to create widespread awareness about the conservation of Hilsa fry to promote its production.
The decision was taken in the meeting of the National Task Force Committee on Hilsa Resource Development held under the chairmanship of Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammad Abdur Rehman at the conference room of the Fisheries Department on Wednesday.
The minister said that like every year, various programs will be organized on the occasion of Jatak Preservation Week.
The programs include promotional activities on the importance of conservation of jataka and related laws in various locations including various important fish landing centres, fish warehouses and markets in Dhaka.
