In the remand appeal, the police told the court that according to the confession statement of another accused Shimul Bhuiyan, Saidul Karim appears to be involved in the murder of Mintu MP Anar.
According to his confession, Akhtaruzzaman, the mastermind of the murder, had discussed with Saidul Karim Mintu on messaging app WhatsApp about the financial transactions to carry out the murder.
Kamal Ahmed Babu, another ruling party leader of the district, told the police that he had exchanged photographs related to the gruesome murder with Shimul Bhuiyan and was to receive a sum of money from Saidul Karim Mintu on May 23 and hand it over to Shimul Bhuiyan.
