US President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that he asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop the fighting in Gaza during a call on Monday.
A White House spokesman earlier said the two leaders discussed a “strategic pause” in the fighting in Gaza for humanitarian reasons and the possible release of hostages during their talks on Monday.
