Earlier since morning, a section of JPA leaders and workers have been protesting in front of the office demanding boycott of the elections.
They raised slogans like ‘No cooperation, take to the streets’ and ‘No participation in elections, we want boycott’.
At that time the police had taken up position inside and outside the Banani office.
Eyewitnesses said that Jatiya Party (JPA) President GM Quader reached the office at around 11:30 am.
