Obaidul Kader has asked the Deputy Commissioners to refrain from starting new road construction projects before the next general elections.
At the annual conference of deputy commissioners on Wednesday, the minister for road transport and bridges said he was not too keen on talking about the government’s achievements in the communications sector as they were “too visible”.
He said the government’s infrastructure projects which have been fully or partially completed include Padma Bridge, Dhaka Metro Rail, Bangabandhu Tunnel, hundreds of roads, overpasses and flyovers.
