The government has so far suspended Khaleda Zia’s jail sentence for the eighth time as the previous seventh extension will expire on September 24.
According to the notification, jailed Khaleda Zia will undergo treatment at her residence in Dhaka and will not be able to travel abroad during the period of her temporary release.
On March 25, 2020, the then 76-year-old BNP chief was released from jail for six months on an executive order of the government considering his age and humanitarian grounds, following an application by his family members.
