Qaiser Kamal, one of Khaleda Zia’s lawyers, has termed the Law Minister’s clarification on the scope of Khaleda Zia’s treatment abroad as ‘political’.
He said that the interpretation of the law given is political and the government is not using legal power due to political considerations.
Qaiser Kamal made the comments at a briefing in his office at the Supreme Court Lawyers Association building on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier, Law Minister Anisul Haq spoke about the legal scope of Khaleda’s treatment abroad in a press conference at the Secretariat today, Wednesday.
The Law Minister said, “The legal matters have passed and are now completely closed. The only option is to seek pardon from the President. If she (Khalida Zia) accepts her crimes and requests pardon from the President, So this is their matter, not mine.”
