Riyad Rashid’s father, Abdur Rashid, a former teacher at Jafrabad High School, said tearfully, “Riyad didn’t tell me about him joining the army. If I had known, I would have never let my son join. We still haven’t been able to find his body. They say it must have been completely destroyed in the drone strike. How can a father bear so much pain?”

Jaffrabad Union President Abu Sadat Mohammad Sayem said, “Riyadh Rashid was like a younger brother. After hearing the news, I went to his house. The entire family is devastated with grief. I don’t know how to console them in this situation. The government should stand with the family.”

Mohammad Imranul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Karimganj police station, said that after receiving the news, the police went to Riyad Rashid’s house. He confirmed the death from family sources.
