Reportedly, the use of sound boxes has been banned to ensure that prayers, recitation of the Quran and the well-being of sick people are not disrupted due to loud noises during weddings and circumcision ceremonies. However, there is no restriction on organizing the program at the designated place.
According to several village residents, the house of couple Jamrat Ali and Rupa Khatoon is about 200 meters away from the mosque. To fulfill the wish of his orphaned grandson Alif (7), a sound box was played at his circumcision ceremony on Thursday after Eid.
When the people offering Namaz felt uncomfortable, the sound box was closed. However, an argument and tension occurred and the next day, Friday, after discussion, the mosque committee decided to stop using horn speakers and sound boxes in the village.
When asked about the allegations, Rupa Khatoon said, “To fulfill the wish of my grandson, the sound box was played for just one day on the circumcision ceremony. However, it was switched off at prayer times and during prayers. The volume was also kept low all the time. Despite this, some members of the mosque committee are creating trouble in the village due to hostility.”
