Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is calling for mandatory helmet rule in cricket

Helmet is mandatory for motorbike riders and the same should be for batsmen, says legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Currently, batsmen wear helmet when they think it’s needed. But Sachin Tendulkar says batsmen should always wear helmet against both pace and spin bowlers.

Sachin Tendulkar who has hundred international century has mentioned a recent incident in the Indian Premier League played in UAE. It was the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab. Batsman Bijoy Sankar was hit on the head when a cricketer threw a ball to prevent running. Luckily the batsman was wearing and it was a minor injury.

Tendulkar has commented this could be deadly if the batsman was not wearing a helmet. He said, cricketers’ safety should be our first priority and ICC (International Cricket Council) should consider mandatory helmet rules for batsmen because cricket is much faster than before.
