Liton was not the only Bangladeshi batsman to take apart the Irish bowlers on the day. His opening partner Ronnie Talukdar also scored a quickfire 44 off 22 balls, helping them build an opening stand of 124 off just 56 balls, the highest ever for Bangladesh in T20Is.
The partnership ended when Ronnie was caught at long-on by Ben White in the ninth over.
Liton raced towards his maiden T20 ton before being caught behind against the same bowler.
