Major reshuffle in top posts of Police, RAB

There has been a major reshuffle in the top ranks of Bangladesh Police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

Eight officers of the rank of Additional Inspector General (Additional Inspector General of Police) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) have been transferred and appointed to new posts.

The order was issued on Monday through a notification from the Police-1 branch of the Public Security Division under the Home Ministry.

The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Tausif Ahmed on behalf of the President.

According to the notification, Sardar Nurul Amin, Additional IGP, Police Headquarters, has been appointed as Additional IGP, Special Branch (SB).

Chattogram Range DIG Mohammad Ahsan Habib Palash, who has been promoted to the rank of Additional IGP, has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of RAB. He will replace the current DG.

Meanwhile, Additional IGP Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Mohammad Sibgat Ullah has been transferred as Additional IGP, Police Headquarters.

Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Additional Inspector General of Police Headquarters, has been appointed Additional Inspector General of Police, CID.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Haseeb Aziz has been appointed as the additional IGP of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN).

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner Hassan MD Shaukat Ali has been appointed Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.

DIG of Special Branch Mohammad Moniruzzaman has been appointed DIG of Chattogram Range.

Additionally, DIG Mohammad Ashrafur Rehman has been given the current charge of Additional IGP, Police Headquarters.
