Taking aim at the BJP, he said, “Do you know the meaning of Ram Rajya? Shri Ram went to exile to fulfill his promises and you break parties and put people in jail? These (implementation of CAA) are all tricks to win elections, but the people of the country know everything.”
Also, AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi suspected political motives behind implementing the Act just before the elections.
“A few days before the Lok Sabha elections, CAA is being brought. What does it represent? This shows that the Modi government knows that they have not done any work in the last 10 years,” AAP leader Atishi said.
“Today the youth are unemployed, there are no houses for the poor and inflation is increasing. Instead of bringing people from neighboring countries, why doesn't he provide employment and houses to the people of this country?” He said.
The Union Home Ministry on Monday evening notified rules for the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), days before the announcement of the Lok Sabha election schedule.
Introduced by the Narendra Modi government and passed by Parliament in 2019, the CAA aims to provide Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim immigrants – including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians – who have come from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Had come.
