A 35-year-old man was charged with assault by police on Tuesday after Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was assaulted at the end of a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in a fiery north London derby at the weekend.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement that Joseph Watts had been charged with “assault by beating, going into an area adjacent to a playground and throwing a missile at a football playing field”.
The Londoner is due to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on 17 February.
Police said that Tottenham had assisted them with their enquiries.
The latest video, shown on Sky Sports television, emerged on Tuesday in which a man is seen climbing back through the crowd after kicking Ramsdale – who was named man of the match – behind a pitchside advertising board.
