The 30 upazilas targeted for the first phase are – Godagari in Rajshahi, Nawabganj in Dhaka, Lauhjung, Sadar and Srinagar upazilas in Munshiganj, Nalcathi in Jhalokathi, Trishal, Sadar and Phulbaria upazilas in Mymensingh, Hamchar and Sadar upazilas of Chandpur, Mehdiganj and Bakerganj upazilas of Barishal, Ishwari, Sadar, Atgharia and Bera. Upazila of Pabna, Porsha of Naugaon, Ghazipur Sadar, Atpara Upazila of Netrokona, Jazeera Upazila of Shariatpur, Barguna Sadar, Madaripur Sadar, Maheshkhali and Ramu Upazilas of Cox’s Bazar, Sadar, Shibganj and Bholahat Upazilas of Chapainawabganj, Natore Sadar and Sadar Upazilas of Jashore districts.
The government has finalized some key guidelines in which children aged 6-59 months will be vaccinated irrespective of the status of first vaccination, children with fever or illness should be given the vaccine after recovery, children with infection or fever will be given Vitamin A capsules, healthy children will only get the vaccine.
