Responding to another question on a comment by BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Awami League joint general secretary Hasan Mahmood said that the Awami League is not a runaway party. All AL leaders and workers will remain in the country in all difficulties, he said, adding that “Rather, BNP leaders should decide where they will go because their general secretary had claimed that ‘Pakistan rule was better’,” he said.

On the Prime Minister’s visit to the G20 summit in India, Hasan said Sheikh Hasina is the only leader from the subcontinent who was invited to attend this important forum.

He said, on the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had a fruitful discussion with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

During the G20 summit, Sheikh Hasina got an immense opportunity to meet many world leaders and have bilateral discussions. The US President’s gesture of taking a selfie with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her daughter, autism expert Saima Wazed, had created huge attraction and excitement among the people of Bangladesh and around the world.

Hasan Mahmood further said that Bangladesh has very good relations with all the countries and this was reflected in the G20 summit.
Sheikh Hasina had very successful meetings with the Presidents of the UAE and South Korea and other heads of state on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. He said that the Prime Minister’s visit was very meaningful.
