A huge number of passengers, ranging from 130,000 to 156,000, are using the metro rail service regularly, said MAN Siddiqui, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL).
During the last New Year celebrations, metro rail operations were disrupted as fanushes (lanterns) flown to celebrate fell on the rail tracks.
