Minister Rabiul faced opposition from BNP workers while visiting Boufal to inspect the feasibility of a bridge project

Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam, MP Altaf Hussain Chaudhary, Shafiqul Islam and other members of the minister’s team were standing on the road amid the procession.

At one point, the situation became heated when BNP and Jamaat supporters started a counter-procession. After being stopped for about 45 minutes, the minister did not go to the stage but crossed the ferry and held a meeting at Char Gorabadi Islamia Dakhil Madrasa ground.

Bridge Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam and Shafiqul Islam delivered speeches in the meeting chaired by Altaf Hussain Chaudhary.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shahid Hussain Choudhary, District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Abu Yusuf, District BNP President and District Council Administrator Snehangshu Sarkar Kutty and others were present.

Minister Rabiul Alam mentioned in his speech that a letter by Adira Binte Mahmood, a second grade student from Boufal, addressed to Prime Minister Tariq Rahman regarding the construction of the Boga Bridge and the child’s television interview attracted the Prime Minister’s attention.

After this the Prime Minister directed to take necessary action on this matter. Then, discussions were held with the concerned department, Patuakhali-1 MP Altaf Hussain Chaudhary and local MP Shafiqul Islam and the initiative to assess the feasibility of the Boga Bridge project was started.
