It’s a miracle that Dhaka is now free from traffic jam. Yes this is true for these days only because most of the residents of Dhaka city left for their native villages as the holy Eid ul fitr is ahead.15 August was government holiday and the holy Eid is on next Sunday or on Monday (based on the appearance of the moon).
There was a rush on every exit point. Crowded people were on the roof top of the trains departing from Dhaka. Similar situation was seen in Sadarghat launch terminal and in bus terminals. It is a rush to meet near and dear relatives.
However, yesterday (Thursday) most of the trains were behind the schedule. Passengers had to wait for a long time as the trains were late for four to five hours.
The city will gain momentum of its usual hustle and bustle again after people returns to Dhaka city after Eid. Before Dhaka city returns to its usual hustle and bustle, city dwellers will experience traffic jam free Dhaka city.
