The United Nations said on Monday that more than 123,000 people have been displaced in the Gaza Strip since clashes between Palestinian militants and Israel began.
The UN humanitarian agency, OCHA, said, “More than 123,538 people have been internally displaced in Gaza, mostly due to fear, security concerns and the destruction of their homes.”
OCHA said more than 73,000 people were sheltering in schools, some of which have been designated emergency shelters.
Israel has launched hundreds of attacks on Gaza since Saturday, when Hamas militants launched deadly attacks into Israel and fired thousands of rockets at the country.
